Beatriz Otero and Jorge Garcia, siblings and owners of Elite Cake Creations in Pembroke Pines, said the divorce cakes taste the same as wedding cakes, but the miniature scenes depicted atop the dessert show moments of marital strife rather than wedded bliss, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Thursday. Advertisement "In no way are we encouraging or being flippant about a serious situation," said Otero, who went through her own divorce five years ago. "On the other hand, when people looking for closure are ready to move on, we can help them celebrate that." The cake-topping scenes include a broken heart with the bride and groom on opposite sides, a bride taking her groom out to the garbage, a prison-themed cake with a ball and broken chain and a bride about to throw her groom from a waterfall.
