CHALMETTE, La., April 1 (UPI) -- The sheriff of Louisiana's St. Bernard Parish said celebrities with honorary badges, including Kid Rock and Steven Seagal, have renewed their commissions.

Sheriff Jack Stephens said that since his new term started in 2008, celebrities including Robert Ritchie, better known as rock-rapper Kid Rock, Motley Crue singer Vince Neil and action star Steven Seagal have renewed their honorary commissions with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported Wednesday.

Stephens said other badge-holding celebrities who have not renewed their commissions include rocker Lenny Kravitz, supermodel Cindy Crawford and CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien.

"They must be drawn to me," Stephens joked after listing the celebrities.

"I think they were kind of tickled by it, frankly ... These celebrities get around. They see people, they talk to people and they've been ambassadors for the New Orleans region and St. Bernard, too, " Stephens said. "Obviously they have access to people who are extraordinarily successful and who take on causes and embrace causes."
