COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., March 26 (UPI) -- A minor-league U.S. baseball team believes that no guts, no glory "crazies" will try to eat a 4-pound, 5,000-calorie hamburger to receive a special T-shirt.

The West Michigan Whitecaps, the Class A team of the Detroit Tigers, is offering a Fifth Third Burger -- named after its Fifth Third Ballpark and nearly as big -- for $20.

Normally feeding four, the burger -- actually five one-third-pound patties -- reaches its 4-pound weight with the toppings, which give the meal 300 grams of fat (including 200 grams of saturated fat), 744 milligrams of cholesterol, almost 11,000 milligrams of sodium and 354 grams of carbohydrates, says the ball club based near Grand Rapids, Mich.

The recipe starts with an 8-inch sesame seed bun that requires 1 pound of dough, made for the team by Grand Rapids' Nantucket Baking Co., the Grand Rapids Press said.

Spoon nearly a cup of chili on the five burgers, add five slices of American cheese and liberal doses of salsa, nacho cheese and corn chips, then top it off with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Jalapenos are optional.

If a single person eats the entire burger in one sitting, he or she will receive a Fifth Third Burger T-shirt, the team says. "Besides being unique and large and bizarre, it tastes good," Whitecaps President Scott Lane told the Press.

"I'm sure there are going to be crazies that come down and try to eat the entire thing," he says.

Marketing Director Mickey Graham tells CNBC some people might go to the ballpark just to buy a burger and go home. "It actually happens pretty frequently," he said. "We take our food pretty seriously."
