NEW YORK, March 9 (UPI) -- Police said three people who purchased peppers at a New York store took the vegetables home and discovered they had been stuffed with bags of cocaine.
Investigators said three separate customers unwittingly purchased the drug-stuffed peppers Sunday from a store on Liberty Avenue in the Ozark Park neighborhood of New York's Queens borough, the New York Post reported Monday.
Store owners said the peppers were imported from South America. The shop was being searched Monday by health department and police officers with K-9 units.
