Bacon Explosion recipe an Internet hit

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- A pair of Kansas City, Mo., pork enthusiasts said their online recipe for the artery-clogging Bacon Explosion has been viewed about 390,000 times.

The Bacon Explosion, the brainchild of Aaron Chronister and friend Jason Day, contains two pounds of bacon coupled with two pounds of Italian sausage, totaling about 5,000 calories and 500 grams of fat, the Kansas City Star reported Friday.

U.S. News & World Report quoted the two men as saying the dish was designed to attract visitors to their barbecuing team's Web site, BBQAddicts.com. Chronister said the Bacon Explosion "got so much traction on the Web because it seems so over the top."
