PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire woman said assault charges she and her boyfriend incurred after a fight were the result of a "bad Christmas."
Randi Young, 24, and Heath Blom, 26, were each charged with a count of simple assault after a Christmas fight that police said began because Blom was upset about getting a Nintendo Wii from Young instead of the remote control airplane he had asked for, Seacoastonline.com reported Tuesday.
"He was upset and rude and she started leaving," said Lt. Rodney McQuate. "He grabbed her by the hair and she turned around and hit him."
Police said both Young and Blom had bruises at the time of their arrests.
"We just had a bad Christmas," Young told District Court Judge Sawako Gardner.
Gardner denied requests from both defendants to have a no-contact order lifted.
Young and Blom are due back in court March 24.
