Eagles may intercept jilted Giants fan

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Sondra Fortunato says after being a loyal fan of the New York Giants for 30 years she is considering shifting her allegiance to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fortunato, who is in her 50s, said since being told by Giants Stadium staff to stop attending games in prom dresses and a rhinestone crown, she has been considering becoming a fan of the Giants' divisional rival, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday.

"It would be hard, it really would be after all these years, to say goodbye to the Giants. But, hey, if Philly loves me, then I could love Philly," the jilted fan said.

Giants' management said the incident in question was the result of New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority regulations covering fan behavior and appearance.

Fortunato maintains the stadium staff's warning during a Dec. 7 Eagles-Giants game was unusual given that she has been wearing low-cut dresses to Giants games for years.

"For years, my appearance was welcomed at the games to cheer on a team that I love with all my heart and is like family to me," she told the Inquirer. "Now, all of a sudden, they want me to come dressed like a regular person."
