SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Police said a man who demanded money from a San Antonio McDonald's cashier got only laughs -- the employee did not realize it was a robbery.

Investigators said the worker laughed at the man's request for money then suggested he get a job to make cash, KSAT-TV, San Antonio, reported Wednesday.

The suspect then allegedly pulled a box cutter on a couple inside the eatery and took a man's wallet -- only to discover there was no cash inside, investigators said.

The man experienced further bad luck when he left the restaurant and was almost immediately arrested by a police officer who responded to a call from across the street, police said.

Authorities said the suspect is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery.
