SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A California family has started the campaign of their preferred candidate to replace Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich -- a deaf 14-year-old border collie.
Michael Sunday said he began the Web-based gubernatorial campaign of his border collie, Scuba, to protest political corruption after the Democratic governor of Illinois was arrested on corruption charges last week, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.
The point, Sunday said, is that a 14-year-old canine with no hearing could do a better job of running Illinois than the current governor.
"Can Scuba do any worse than Gov. Rod Blagojevich?" Sunday asked.
"He's not going to do any damage," he proudly said of his political pooch. "No one can bribe him."
