SEATTLE, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Two professional filmmakers who put a tiny camera on their cat say he takes prettier pictures of their Seattle neighborhood than they do.

Michael and Deirdre Cross hung the camera from the collar of their cat, Cooper, who for the last year has traversed neighbors' backyards and busy streets automatically photographing the places he travels and the birds he sees, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Saturday.

The former stray and his camera are the subject of an episode of "Cats 101," a new series on cable television's Animal Planet.

Cooper's camera took 200 to 400 photos a day, many of them dark and out of focus from Cooper running, sleeping or hiding in various places, said his owners. But many of the photos are beautiful and could be considered a documentary art form, the Post-Intelligencer reported.

"If my cat can take photos prettier than what we've taken, what is art? It asks a lot about the intention behind art and how it's interpreted," Michael Cross said.
