STOCKTON, Calif., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Police in Stockton, Calif., allege a man broke into an area home and then hid inside a large Rubbermaid-type container when officers arrived on scene.

Sheriff's deputies alleged Tuesday they found Joseph Womack, 22, hiding inside a container measuring 2 feet-by-3 feet after responding to a call about a potential burglary in progress at a Stockton home, KCRA-TV, Sacramento said.

The container and its alleged cargo were found inside a bedroom closet, the deputies said.

The incident began Monday when a home owner contacted police about a possible robbery at her home. She told authorities she found her back door kicked in and there were lights on in the home she had not turned on.

Deputies alleged after finding Womack inside the container, they located several items of stolen property on his person, KCRA-TV said.
