LONDON, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- A British court has sentenced a woman who cut a fellow train passenger's face with her stiletto high heel to community service.

Laura Cook, 29, admitted in London's Southwark Crown Court to a charge of causing actual bodily harm after she was accused of kicking Ian Garven in the face, causing him to require stitches to close a wound that prosecutors said left a scar, The Daily Mail reported Friday.

Cook and her boyfriend, Nicholas Rogers, 31, had been arguing with Garven after he asked Rogers to take his feet off of a seat on the train from London to Southend, England, on Feb. 16, 2007, the newspaper said.

Rogers, who pleaded guilty to the same charge as Cook, knocked Gavin to the floor and Cook began kicking him in the face, the court heard.

Cook and Rogers, who said they had been drinking earlier in the evening, were each sentenced to 80 hours of community service. Causing actual bodily harm carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment.
