SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Police in South Salt Lake, Utah, say pro shop customers in a golf cart chased down a suspected robber who wore underwear on his head to disguise his identity.
Officers wrote in a statement that the 48-year-old suspect had disguised himself with men's underwear on his head and threatened a clerk at Golf in the Round with a 10-inch butcher's knife, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Tuesday.
The clerk attempted to wrestle the knife from the suspect's grasp after he demanded money and the attempted robber ran from the store after the blade of the knife broke off. Officers said the clerk alerted customers to the situation as the suspect fled across a driving range.
Investigators said customers in a golf cart chased the man and kept him from escaping until police arrived.
The store clerk suffered cuts to his hands as a result of the struggle with the suspect, police said.
