GUELPH, Ontario, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- A deer struck by a car outside the city of Guelph, Ontario, was thrown on top of a passing jogger, but the man wasn't injured, police said.
The car was traveling on a road outside a preservation park Sunday when the deer bolted in front of it, police said.
The animal, thrown from the vehicle, knocked down an unidentified 38-year-old man who was jogging on the sidewalk by the forested area, the Guelph Mercury reported.
The jogger declined medical attention. The unidentified driver of the car was also uninjured, although the impact of the crash was so severe police declared his vehicle a write-off, the newspaper said.
The deer died from the impact.
Police warned drivers that deer are more likely to be on highways during daylight hours because of the season change, the newspaper said.
