BROOMFIELD, Colo., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- A Colorado birth records say there are still no newborns named after Barack Obama after an earlier announcement to that effect was revealed to be a hoax.
Roger Sealy of Broomfield, Colo., sent out announcements of the birth of Carter Barack Obama Sealy shortly after Election Day but his mother-in-law soon stepped in to clarify matters.
The Rocky Mountain News said Thursday that Sealy scored a few media interviews but may have overreached by telling reporters his other two children were named Brooke Trout and Cooper John Elway.
Birth certificates showed the Sealy children to be plain old Brooke and Cooper. Young Carter's birth certificate is pending and it is assumed he wasn't named after Jimmy Carter.
"I'm so sorry," mom Jackee Sealy told the Daily Camera newspaper in Boulder, Colo. "My husband's an idiot."
That assessment may be a little harsh, but Roger Sealy did pass up the opportunity to the first Colorado dad with a Barack Obama baby.
