ST. ASAPH, Wales, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- A St. Asaph, Wales, woman says she is auctioning off on eBay the right to change her legal name, with half the proceeds going to charity.
Eileen De Bont, 37, said she will have her name formally changed by deed poll to whatever name is chosen by the highest bidder, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.
She said half of the money will go to charity Children in Need and the other half will go toward giving her own two children "a more comfortable Christmas."
"We've had a tough year and this would help a lot," De Bont said.
"It's all very silly but I'm deadly serious about changing it. I'll even call myself Scunthorpe Travelodge if it's the winning bid, so watch out Paris Hilton," she said. "If a business wants a walking advert for a year I'm willing to change my name to their company's."
