Franken cuts Lieberman off on healthcare
Thursday, December 17
OLDHAM, England, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Police said they discovered lizards, turtles, parrots, rats, chickens, beetles and a snake during a drug raid at an Oldham, England, house.
Sgt. Rob Howarth of the Greater Manchester Police said officers removed "hundreds" of animals from the house where five people were arrested for possessing an estimated $10,000 worth of illegal drugs, The Sun reported Thursday.
"It was like a zoo," Howarth said. "The thousands of insects were the worst -- big horrible things with antennae, two to three inches long."
"The noise was horrendous. It was like searching in jungle conditions," he said.
Howarth said the pets, including an 8-foot boa constrictor, were re-housed by authorities.
