KINGSTON, N.Y., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A Catholic priest who is being sued by a woman who claims he seduced her has been suspended from his position as a chaplain at a Kingston, N.Y., hospital.

Rev. Elvis Elano was suspended Thursday from Benedictine Hospital, one day after Judith Rodrigues-Lytwyn claimed in a lawsuit that he used his position as a priest at Our Lady of Snows Church to emotionally manipulate her into a sexual relationship that lasted for seven months, the New York Daily News reported Friday.

"Father Elano has been suspended from his duties at Benedictine Hospital, where he provided pastoral care to our patients since August," hospital spokesman Sean Casey said.

Rodrigues-Lytwyn's suit claims the priest seduced her after she confessed to him in March that she had left her husband became he was abusive.

The $25 million suit claims Elano had his Viagra delivered to Rodrigues-Lytwyn's home.
