Man learns casino losses not deductible

LONDON, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A British call center says an employee who called in sick was caught playing hooky after a night of drinking, and that he effectively confessed on Facebook.
An e-mail exchange between Kyle Doyle, 21, and a human resources worker at the call center revealed the company denied Doyle's claim of skipping work because he was sick after he posted on his Facebook page that he was staying home because he was "still trashed," The Daily Mail reported Thursday.
The human resources employee, Niresh Regmi, said in an e-mail to Doyle that the company determined that his "leave was not due to medical reasons and as such we cannot grant leave on this occasion."
The call center said the matter is under investigation.
