Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey said Nader's name was misspelled as "Nadar" on all of the ballots printed for the 187 precincts in the county, The (Vancouver, Wash.) Columbian reported Monday. Advertisement Kimsey said the error in the mail-in ballots, which are the only ballots used in the county, was not caught by a proofreader of elections supervisor Tim Likness before they went to print. "It's a very dark day at the elections office," Kimsey said. "This is the most significant ballot-proofreading error that has occurred in the Clark County elections office in anyone's memory." He said any ballots cast for "Nadar" will be counted for Nader, who is running as an independent, and his vice presidential running mate, Matt Gonzalez.
