NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A teenager who allegedly stole a purse from a parked car in New Orleans was arrested after using a stolen credit card to buy a ticket to a Saints game.

Police found the 15-year-old on Oct. 6 at the Superdome watching the Saints play the Minnesota Vikings, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Thursday. When officers asked to see his ticket, he gave them an envelope that also contained the credit card and the victim's driver's license.

Major Greg Elder, a police commander, said that investigators thought someone who had bought a ticket with a stolen card would have the sense not to sit in his assigned seat.

The arresting officers said that the teen, who had a previous burglary record, apologized for his actions and said that he has a problem with theft. They advised him to keep his mouth shut until his mother showed up.
