GEORGETOWN, S.C., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Two delivery trucks from the same snack food company traveling in opposite directions collided on a rural South Carolina highway, state police say.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the driver of a northbound Frito Lay delivery truck said he swerved into the southbound lanes of Highway 701 in Georgetown County about 7:40 a.m. Saturday to avoid hitting a car in front of him that had slowed down rapidly to make a turn, the Georgia (County, S.C.) Times reported Wednesday.
Collins said the truck smashed into another Frito Lay truck traveling in the opposite direction.
He said one truck was totaled and the other incurred major damage to its front end. Both drivers were treated for minor head injuries.
Collins said it was unusual for two delivery trucks from the same company to collide on a rural highway.
"It's not something you see every day," he said.
