LUBBOCK, Texas, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A television anchor in Lubbock, Texas, says she had no clue her boyfriend from a rival TV station planned to propose to her on-air during her show.
KAMC-TV anchor Emily Leonard appeared stunned when she saw boyfriend, Matt Laubhan, a meteorologist for KLBK-TV, Lubbock, sitting at the sports desk. Laubhan then asked viewers to "sit back and watch me make a young woman cry, hopefully in a good way."
Referring to Leonard as "the sweet, quirky, crazy girl that you watch every morning on this channel" and "the love of my life," Laubhan walked over to Leonard, dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
Leonard, who said she was shaking, said "yes" several times before Laubhan slipped the ring on her finger and asked, "So you had no clue?"
"No," she said Thursday, adding, "I think I got lipstick on you," to which her finance replied, "I don't think it matters."
