GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- A Glenwood Springs, Colo., woman says it was more exciting than frightening to find three mountain lions in her yard.
"They are gorgeous animals, and you could see their paws up close and their muscular bodies; it was fascinating," Jan Shugart said.
The mountain lions arrived Sunday morning, visited for a while and then strolled off, Shugart told the Glenwood (Colo.) Springs Post Independent in a story published Tuesday.
Shugart and her husband, Bruce, took photos of the lions, which came to within 10 feet of their patio door and looked into the dining room, she said.
"They were meandering around the house, just lollygagging, not in a hurry at all," Jan Shugart said. "They just kind of hung out in the yard for a while."
Colorado wildlife officials said it is not unusual to see mountain lions in the wild but rarely are they seen so close to homes, the Independent reported.
