ALAMEDA, Calif., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Authorities in Alameda, Calif., say they are relieved to have recovered a Harley-Davidson police motorcycle stolen from a locked storage building.

"It's always embarrassing when you lose any property, when it's stolen from the police department," Alameda Police Lt. Art Fuentes told the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 2001 Road King was recovered Friday in Martinez several hours after being stolen from storage at the former Alameda Naval Air Station, the Chronicle reported Saturday.

Police arrested Jebba Catley, 40, of Oakland after witnesses tipped police to a motorcycle being unloaded from a truck in Martinez, the Chronicle reported.

Catley, who was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property and burglary, told police he bought the motorcycle from "an unknown male at an unknown location" for $1,000, said Martinez Police Sgt. Glenn Walkup.
