Man hit by truck cited for jaywalking

BOISE, Idaho, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- A 62-year-old man has been ticketed for jaywalking despite being struck by a passenger truck during the alleged infraction, police in Boise, Idaho, say.

Boise police say Ebrahim Balah was cited for jaywalking after he allegedly attempted to cross the street in a non-pedestrian portion of the roadway, where he was struck by an oncoming truck, the Idaho Statesman said Thursday.

Police said the accident left the man with minor injuries, which were treated at an area hospital.

Wednesday's accident also caused a temporary halt to all traffic in three lanes as emergency workers treated the injured man, the Statesman said.
