Police: Thief left trail of money

DES MOINES, Iowa, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Police in Des Moines, Iowa, said a thief who broke into a bar left a trail of money leading from the establishment to another neighborhood.

Investigators who arrived at the scene of the break-in at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday said the intruder had dropped two $5 bills and 14 $1 bills around a table in front of the gaming machines he took the money from, the Des Moines Register reported Thursday.

Police followed a trail of money -- including six $5 bills, one $20 bill and one $1 bill -- to the 200 block of Southeast Livingston Avenue, but no arrests have yet been made. Investigators said they do not know how much money the thief got away with.
