City Councilman Frank Moss said city officials want parents to play more of an active role in the ongoing "Pull Em' Up" campaign aimed at eliminating the youthful fashion trend from Fort Worth, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram said Wednesday. Advertisement "We're going to continue to encourage parental involvement," Moss said Tuesday. "They don't know it's hampering their (children's) opportunities." City officials allege the fashion trend, which involves wearing oversized pants that are worn low, is indicative of prison and inappropriate for general society. Mayor Mike Moncrief told the Star-Telegram posters supporting the city campaign could soon appear at area sports venues, amusement parks and the Fort Worth Zoo. "So wherever they go with their pants down around their ankles, they're going to see signs that say 'Don't do that,'" he said, referring to the teenagers following the controversial trend.
