Dad cited for hoisting a beer with son, 4.

FOND DU LAC, Wis., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Prosecutors say they have cited a patron at a Wisconsin county fair who was allegedly drinking beer with his 4-year-old son.

The man, whose name was not released, allegedly ordered two brews at the Fond du Lac County Fair in July, telling the server that one was for him and the other was for his young son.

The Fond du Lac Reporter said Tuesday that the woman pouring the beer thought he was kidding and served him, but he was later seen by police bending his elbow with his son -- who was letting his 2-year-old kid brother have a few sips.

Wisconsin law allows underage children to drink alcohol with their parents; however, police maintained the kids in this case were too young to understand what they were drinking and that they could turn down their father's offer.

Father and sons were escorted off the premises, but the district attorney's office decided to issue the citation last week, the newspaper said.
