SYDNEY, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Customs officials in Sydney said a box marked T-shirts and baby toys was found to instead contain venomous spiders and snakes.

Officials said the house the package was bound for was raided after finding five pythons and two tarantulas inside the parcel, but charges have yet been filed, CNN reported Wednesday.

Australia bans the importation of live animals without a proper permit and a violation can result in a sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a $92,000 fine if a suspect is convicted.
