The contracting company that owns Trixi and Bosco initially thought the pair had been dognapped after they disappeared from the firm's 10-acre lot in suburban Schaumburg, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday. Advertisement The theory that the dogs had been stolen was abandoned when a worker for A Lamp Concrete Contractors Inc. heard a whine coming from the drainage system on the company's property. Popping open a manhole in the driveway, the worker saw 10-month-old Trixi peering up at him but Bosco was nowhere in sight. Knowing that the two dogs were inseparable, the firm used a camera to locate Bosco who was stuck in an 18-inch drain pipe 225 feet away. A company spokeswoman told the Tribune workers had to remove a patch of concrete 50 feet by 10 feet to retrieve Bosco. Both dogs are expected to recover.
