Supermarket seeds lead to pot plant

LIVERPOOL, England, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A 3-year-old girl in the British city of Liverpool now has a cannabis plant after buying an organic seed mix at a supermarket, her father says.

Danny Williams said his young daughter, Lois, planted seeds from a bag of health food mix that was purchased at a store in Huyton and now a healthy marijuana plant sits in their backyard, the Liverpool Echo said Friday.

Williams said his daughter had been attempting to follow in his gardening footsteps by planting the seeds.

"She wanted to plant something of her own like I do, so we just chucked some seeds into the soil," he told the Echo.

"Two months on and there was a cannabis plant in my garden. I could not believe it."

Another shock for the unsuspecting father was the fact his daughter has been eating the seed mix since they purchased it, the newspaper reported.
