STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- A Swedish soccer fan has filed a complaint with a consumer agency alleging misleading marketing practices after his favorite team suffered a losing streak.

Kristoffer Gahlin said he filed a complaint with the Swedish Consumer Agency after his favorite Allsvenskan league team, AIK, suffered a long losing streak that leaves it with very little chance of success this season, The Local reported Tuesday.

"The club has made a fool of itself again this year," Gahlin said of the Stockholm-area team.

"Every year they go out and promise how good things are going to be, and then everything ends up being as it has been," he said. "The supporters are the only ones who fall for it, spending a lot of money and getting used."

Mattias Grundstrom, a Swedish Consumer Agency lawyer and fellow AIK supporter, said Gahlin's complaint has been received by the agency, but it is unlikely to become a top priority.

"I can understand that many in AIK feel troubled, but it's not the same as when a case deals with food prices, for example," he said.

"After the effort against Trelleborg, I can understand the public's frustration, but I don't think that the Consumer Agency is going to take action against AIK Football AB," Grundstrom said, referencing the team's weekend 0-2 loss to Trelleborg.
