OSCEOLA, Mo., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- The county sheriff in Missouri says his policy of hanging "wanted" posters above urinals in the department's building has led to 10 arrests so far.

St. Clair County Sheriff Mearl J. Justus said deputies began hanging the posters and mugshots on a bulletin board over the urinals in the department's men's room a few years ago and peeing deputies have thus far recognized 10 faces and brought suspects to justice, the St. Louis (Mo.) Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday.

The sheriff's office said Deputy Dan Hill was relieving himself last month when he recognized the face of a pastor wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.

"Hill said, 'I know who that is, I know where he stays,' and they went out and picked him up," said Sgt. John Fulton, the sheriff's administrative assistant.

Fulton said the bulletin board location may be unconventional, but it has obtained results.

"It is kind of a goofy idea, but that's what he (the sheriff) is known for," he said.
