The charges against the seven individuals were dropped after each made an apology regarding their actions during their respective graduation ceremonies, The Herald newspaper in Rock Hill, S.C., said Wednesday.
"I'm sorry, I'm sincere in my apology, what I did was rude," defendant Joseph Reiriz said in court Tuesday.
A total of eight arrests took place June 6-7 at Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, S.C., after individuals violated ceremonial rules by openly supporting their loved ones.
School officials had informed ceremony guests that any outbursts during the events would result in their removal from the graduation ceremony.
Reiriz said in court he recognized the risk he took by cheering for his younger brother but he never expected to face charges for his actions.
"I expected to be escorted out but I didn't expect legal action," the 21-year-old said.
The Herald said the remaining graduation suspect in the case has been unable to apologize due to his involvement in a recent traffic accident.
