CUERO, Texas, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Authorities and Web sites are abuzz with reports of alleged monsters, with curious creatures and corpses reported in Texas, Georgia and New York's Long Island.
DeWitt County Sheriff's deputies in Cuero, Tex., captured footage on dashboard cameras Aug. 8 of a creature running along a dirt road that some said resembled Mexico's legendary chupacabra monster, but Scientific American identified the creature as nothing more than a particularly ugly pit bull, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Meanwhile, two Georgia men claim to have photos and a corpse of the long-sought Sasquatch, otherwise known as Bigfoot.
Another strange animal corpse that was dubbed the "Montauk Monster" became an Internet sensation after pictures were released showing a bizarre creature's body, which washed up on a Long Island beach in July. However, the monster was revealed to be a publicity stunt for a movie being shot nearby, although the filmmakers denied any involvement in the hoax.
