RISOR, Norway, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Risor, Norway, said a boat belonging to Crown Prince Haakon sank outside of the royal family's summer home due to heavy rain and waves.

Risor Sheriff Odd Holum said the boat had been left on the water after Haakon and the rest of the royal family left the summer home, Aftenposten reported Friday.

"The boat is an older model which isn't self-draining. Rain can bring it low in the water and waves do the rest," Holum said." The boat has been taken to the local marina and the engine is being serviced after being in the water."
