JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Police in Jacksonville, Fla., said a man was arrested after he twice dialed 911 to report Subway employees had failed to put special sauce on his sandwich.

A police report said Reginald Peterson, 42, told officers he phoned the emergency number because his spicy Italian sandwich was not made to his specifications, the Jacksonville Times-Union reported Tuesday.

He phoned 911 a second time because he did not believe police were responding to his complaint with enough haste.

The store manager of the Subway restaurant said he locked the store while the belligerent customer was outside dialing 911 and phoned police himself -- using the non-emergency number.

The police report said officers arrived at the scene and attempted to explain proper 911 usage to Peterson, but he failed to calm down and was arrested on suspicion of making false 911 calls.

Police said Peterson had prior convictions for burglary, battery and disorderly intoxication.
