Palin spares 1 turkey, others not so lucky
Brittany Brown, a former senior at Newnan High School in Newnan, Ga.,, took the state law-mandated graduation test five times, once coming within a single point of passing, but never scored the 500 points needed to pass the science portion of the test, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.
However, the state department of education granted the honor student an exception and she has been accepted to Georgia Highlands College for classes in the fall.
"I just think the graduation test is ludicrous," Brown said Monday. "You work all year. I say if you pass all your tests, work hard and go all four years, you should get your diploma. Some kids just aren't good at tests, like me."
