Palin spares 1 turkey, others not so lucky
The emblem, which is meant to resemble a flame, drew sharp criticism after its $1 million price tag for taxpayers was revealed, The Daily Mail reported Monday.
Graeme Hicks, a county councilor for Redruth South, described the logo's price as "outrageous."
"Now we are beginning to see just how much this new authority is going to cost," he said. "Huge amounts of public money are being spent and we have yet to see any savings."
The logo has also proven unpopular with the public, with one resident saying it look like "Don King's hairstyle" and another comparing it to the beehive hairdo sported by singer Amy Winehouse.
