Teens accused of stealing sandwich costume

DALLAS, July 27 (UPI) -- Three teenagers allegedly attacked a 14-year-old boy wearing a sandwich costume and stole the advertising garb from him, Dallas police say.

Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old are facing charges they accosted the youngster outside a Dallas Subway sandwich store Friday and took his costume, The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday.

The teenagers were apprehended after police traced the license plate of the car allegedly used in the theft.

The Morning News said the 14-year-old's foot was crushed by his assailants' vehicle as they fled the scene, but the young man is expected to recover from those injuries.

The sandwich costume was also recovered by police, the newspaper said.
