STOCKTON, Calif., July 23 (UPI) -- A security guard at a Stockton, Calif., parking lot said a car stolen from him three years ago has been returned after the alleged thief brought it to his lot.

Rakesh Singh said he would have spotted his Mustang 5.0 anywhere, especially in his own parking lot, KOVR-TV, Sacramento, Calif., reported Wednesday.

"I had it for 12 years before they stole it, so it's like a baby with a scar," Singh said. "I was like, 'That's mine.'"

"The little curb bump, it leans the same way, the mud flaps are the same," he said.

Singh said he phoned police after the man brought the car to the lot went into a restaurant.

"We hid in the back," Singh said. "It was so cool."
