Gary Dean said rumors flew in his hometown, Fylde, after he and his wife of 20 years divorced, The Times of London reported Friday.

"When you live in a small area it's almost like living in a goldfish bowl. This is why tongues wag. It's like Coronation Street," Dean said.

In response to rumors he cold-heartedly left his wife with very little, he created the Web site, The Truth About Helen Louise Dean v Gary Dean, to let the public know his ex got $7.4 million and he agreed to finance her Mercedes and Audi convertible.

The Web site says the former Mrs. Dean was allowed to keep all of her jewelry and the businessman agreed to pay about $30,000 a year for each of the couple's four children until they reach age 17.

Dean was quick to point out that none of his animosity was pointed toward his ex-wife, The Times said.

"I've nothing bad to say about her," he said. "We changed and things changed. I've absolutely no bitterness. We just grew apart. I've got a partner, she has a new partner."
