The internal affairs investigation found Lt. Major Garvin, a 15-year police veteran, demanded free fancy tea and specialty coffee from a Starbucks location inside the Ocean Walk Shoppes and threatened the business that police response to a crime at the store would be delayed if they did not comply, the Daytona (Fla.) News-Journal reported Friday.

Chief Mike Chitwood, who fired Garvin July 8, said the lieutenant demanded a polygraph test and the machine suggested he was lying when he denied demanding the products and threatening to delay police reaction to an incident at Starbucks.
