Annoyed homeowner wants kitty leash law

WICHITA, Kan., July 15 (UPI) -- An angry resident wants Wichita, Kan., to adopt a leash law for cats so he can keep his neighbor's pet out of his yard.

Howard Feiner told the City Council that he has no objection to cats, the Wichita Eagle reported. But he said he does object to his daily gathering up of kitty poop.

"We would like to enjoy our patio without the stench of an animal every day," he said.

Officials say there are no ordinances on the books now that would help Feiner. While dogs must stay in their owners' yards, cats are free to roam legally.

Mayor Carl Brewer said that the city would try to come up with a solution. No one else on the council had anything to say on the matter.
