Matt Guy, 37, known as the "Tiger Woods of bags," received $900 for taking first place in both the competitive singles and doubles categories at the Saturday event, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Many competitors say they take part in the Cornhole Classic to kick back and have a good time with friends.
"You've got your beer in one hand and your bag in the other -- that's what it's all about," said Danny Quiros, 30.
More serious competitors say they see the eight-hour event as an opportunity to show off their precision and skill.
"(It's) good to see how you stack up against the best," said Dave Wilkinson, who reached the singles semifinals before Guy beat him.
