CARDIFF, Wales, July 5 (UPI) -- The moon was mistaken for a UFO by someone in southern Wales who asked police to investigate, officials say.
Details of the incident were released to highlight the types of unnecessary calls fielded by emergency services operators, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
In a call to officials, the caller said, "I just need to inform you that across the mountain there's a bright stationary object."
"If you've got a couple of minutes perhaps you could find out what it is? It's been there at least half an hour and it's still there," the caller added.
Other unusual calls included someone asking for help voting for Rhydian on the TV show "The X-Factor" and another requesting a coin for their supermarket trolley, the newspaper said,
