BORAS, Sweden, July 5 (UPI) -- Two men in Svenljunga, Sweden, allegedly drove their motorized lawnmowers home from a bar while intoxicated, police say.

Lennart Stenquist of the police department in the nearby city of Boras said the two unidentified men, said to be in their 40s, had allegedly decided to use the riding mowers to drive rather than use their cars, The Local reported Saturday.

A witness called police Friday night after seeing the two men allegedly driving the lawnmowers erratically on an area bicycle path.

Stenquist said the men allegedly were found to be over the legal limit for driving a vehicle and acted surprised when stopped by police.

"They said that they thought that they were allowed to do so, but of course it is not allowed," the police officer said.

The Local said the men had their drivers licenses revoked.
