COCOA, Fla., July 3 (UPI) -- Florida wildlife officials said they have captured a 5-foot python that had apparently injured itself while eating an animal in a tree in the city of Cocoa.

Capt. Bob Brown, director of Brevard County Animal Services and Control, said the python was taken to the Wildlife Care Center in Canaveral Groves, Fla., to receive treatment for head and neck trauma, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Thursday.

A Cocoa Police Department spokeswoman said the reptile was caught in a tree on a residential property.
