ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 2 (UPI) -- University of Michigan police said 200 lead bricks have been reported stolen from outside a building on the school's Ann Arbor campus.

Lt. Bob Neumann said the blue-painted bricks, which weigh a total of about 5,000 pounds, were taken from the loading dock area of the Duderstadt Center between 8 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Monday, The Ann Arbor News reported Wednesday.

Neumann said the bricks, which are used to block radiation during science experiments, are worth about $2,000 total and may have been taken to sell as scrap metal.
